Helen Phillips, FCA, FCCA
Following a varied scholastic
career HP entered into Articles with a small firm of
Chartered Accountants near Liverpool Street in the City
of London. She qualified in 1969. Following admission
to the Institute in 1970 she accepted a job as a traveling
auditor and enjoyed a year of traveling round Canada.
She then settled in Montreal for a further three years
as the Financial Controller of a large Car Dealership.
After a further period of travel, this time in a transit
van, around the USA and Mexico, she returned home to
the UK, having missed decimalization and the three-day
working week.
Helen worked with a market research company
that was part of Unilever for the next 7 or 8 years
until pressures of small children forced her to give
it up. She started her own practice in 1981. The General Practice grew to a size where she was able to sell it. Helen now practices in her area of expertise, insolvency, with a small dedicated team.
In her spare time Helen is an animal
lover and has shown dogs and horses. She has three daughters.
Eleanor Thorn
Eleanor joined Phillips & Co in 1990. She
started as an office junior and has worked her way up
to her current position as office manager. Eleanor has
considerable experience with dealing with Bankruptcies,
Liquidations (solvent and insolvent) and Voluntary Arrangements.
She can also assist with most queries relating to assets,
dividends, creditors claims and employee claims.
Sue Howse
Sue joined Phillips & Co in 2002. She is
the office secretary, administrator and co-ordinates
archive retreival. She can assist with general enquiries
from creditors and employees.
